Retraction notice to Engineering a high-performance W-doped Sr_0.9Fe_0.67Ti_0.3Co_0.03O_3-δ hydrogen electrode for Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells (SOECs) [J. Power Sour. 610 (2024) 234686] (Journal of Power Sources (2024) 610, (S0378775324006384), (10.1016/j.jpowsour.2024.234686))

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. After a thorough investigation, the Editor has concluded that the review process for this article was compromised. The acceptance was based on information from at least one reviewer report that was submitted from an email account provided to the journal as a suggested reviewer during the submission of the article. Although purportedly a real reviewer account, the Editor has concluded that this account had been compromised, and the resulting report was not from the reviewer in question. This manipulation of the peer-review process represents a clear violation of the fundamentals of peer review, the journal's publishing policies, and publishing ethics standards. Apologies are offered to the readers of the journal that this deception was not detected during the submission process. Furthermore, the Editor noticed a significant increase of self-citations of one of the authors between the original submission and the revised version. Only 2 papers by Muhammad Bilal Hanif were cited in the original version of the paper. This increased to 9 self-citations in the revised version. Post-publication, the Editor also discovered a suspicious email address used by an author during the submission process that was associated with a different researcher account. Overall, the Editor feels that the findings of the manuscript cannot be relied upon, and the article needs to be retracted.
