Abstract

Retraction Note to: Cancer Gene Therapyhttps://doi.org/10.1038/s41417-020-00280-7, published online 2 February 2021 The Editor-in-Chief has retracted this article. After publication, concerns were raised regarding western blot similarity between the figures presented in this article and a number of unrelated articles that were submitted and published within a similar time frame [1, 2, 3–4]. Further checks by the Publisher have found that the study used the BGC-823 cell line, which has been reported to be contaminated with HeLa cervical cancer cells, making this cell line unsuitable as a model of gastric cancer. The Editor-in-Chief therefore no longer has confidence in the presented data and the conclusions of this article. None of the authors have responded to any correspondence from the Publisher about this retraction.
