Abstract

This paper focuses on the optimization design method of centrifugal impeller, which combines three dimensional viscosity flow analysis, design of experiments (DOE) technology and the response surface methodology (RSM). The RSM is introduced, and the advantage and disadvantage of different DOE methods and the influence of grid in CFD solution are discussed. In the parameterization of impeller geometry, the blade is constructed by the inverse design method with given vortex distribution and the meridional is described by B-spline. Examples show that this method is fast and effective.
