Abstract

The sinking motion law of wear particles in the magnetic field detector of on-line Ferrograph was investigated. Firstly. The motion model of wear particles in the detector was presented, the magnetic field distribution of an electromagnet was simulated by finite element method, and the relationship between deposition position of wear particles and some parameters, such as initial height y0 and particle diameter D, was investigated. Simulation results show that when there is an obliquity between flow direction of oil sampling and magnetic poles surface, wear particles deposit according their size in the magnetic field detector, the distance between sinking position of wear particles and entry of oil sampling increases with initial height y0.
