Abstract
Since the microstructure characteristics of contact surface layer are the most important factors having influence on the interaction of the electric plates with the breaking arc, the characteristic surface dynamics of AgMeO contact material during arc corrosion, i.e. wetting ability, viscosity of dispersion, thermal stability of metal oxide component, were studied. The response of surface dynamics the breaking arc effect i.e. the formation and development mechanism of cracks in AgMeO contacts, skin effect of MeO component in heated area, surface morphology of arc corroded AgMeO contacts, were discussed.
