Abstract

In this paper, for the nozzle with throat diameter of 8 mm and exit diameter of 9.6 mm, the supersonic steam jet formed with the steam pressure 0.2~0.6 MPa submerged in water with the temperature 20~70°C were studied. Five kinds of typical steam plumes were observed: a tapered shape, expansion-contraction-shaped, double-expansion-contraction shape, expansion-contraction-divergence shape and divergence. The flow field pressures distribution were measured and The comparative analysis between the axis pressure distribution and the vapor plume condensation morphology were conducted; The experiment also given the pressure of the flow field distribution to reflect that the pressure range of the flow field with the steam inlet pressure and supercooled water temperature increased gradually expanded.
