Abstract
On the basis of the experimental and theoretical studies, the technologies of expert systems and fuzzy decision were applied to improve the strategy of machine tool thermal character, and an expert system of machine tool thermal character diagnosis and structure design improvement strategy was formed. This expert system can diagnose the reason of causing thermal deformation overproof according to the thermal deformation phenomenon and provide an improving strategy which is of directive significance for refining its structure design. The knowledge representation, inference mechanism and some key techniques adopted in the development of the system were discussed, and an application case was illustrated.
