Abstract
The process of supersonic steam-water two-phase flow in a channel with variable section is studied experimentally and the pressure profiles along the channel are obtained. The experiment shows that such pressure distributions are not affected by the outlet water pressure and the inlet water flux, but mainly depend on the temperature of inlet water and the pressure of inlet steam. However, the pressures can be considered as constant value along the entire converging nozzle, and a shock wave appears at the nozzle throat. These conclusions are beneficial to the developments and applications of the lifting pressure technology with supersonic two-phase flow in channel of variable section.
