Abstract

An experiment was carried out to study the impact pressure characteristic induced by steam jet condensation in water for different nozzle diameters in the wide range of pressures and water temperatures. The pressures at various axial and radial distances were measured, and the influence of nozzle diameter on the impact pressure was analyzed. The results indicated that the pressure was mainly affected by inlet steam pressure and water temperature. Moreover, the nozzle diameter hardly affected the pressure at the same parameters of steam and water as well as the dimensionless axial and radial distances.
