Abstract

One step drawing process of big-size microstructured polymer optical fibre perform was performed using self-designed special MPOF drawing tower designed with three-step heating system, and the temperature could be strictly controlled with the precision of ±2°C. High quality MPOF with outer diameter of 310 μm was obtained under the stabile and harmonious drawing speed and feeding speed. The standard deviation of diameter was ±20 μm.
