Abstract

The steam jet condensation in water was analyzed using turbulent diffusion model by assuming the axisymmetric single-phase flow in the turbulent jet region, and the calculation equation was obtained by using the free turbulent jet. Based on the experimental correlation of jet half-width, the jet virtual source was calculated, and the semi-empirical correlation for predicting the axial temperature distribution was obtained. In this paper, the dimensionless jet penetration length was adopted to determine the turbulent region, where the predicted axial temperature agreed well with the experiments, and the discrepancies were within ±5%.
