Abstract
A technique for X-ray image reconstruction with super dynamic range is proposed for X-ray imaging systems with limited gray dynamic range. Two original images of the same object at different tube voltages are obtained. The images are decomposed by wavelet transform. The wavelet coefficients of the two images are recomposed. And an image with large dynamic range is reconstructed by the inverse wavelet transform of the recomposed coefficients. Experiments show that this technique can effectively extend the gray dynamic range of X-ray image without increasing patient dose.
