Abstract

According to Stribeck effect, a kind of sensorless rapid technology for feed-axis (motor+ballscrew) lubrication condition identification of large scale numerical control (NC) machine tools based on linear or rotary scale and motor current (torque) was proposed. To acquire the information, the static friction force, Coulomb friction force and viscous coefficient was employed for trend analysis, and the various amplitude and velocity triangular wave test curve and a kind of precise nonlinear model identification method were suggested. The analysis of the experiments show that it is simple, rapid, feasible and reliable for evaluating feed-axis lubrication condition, which puts the basis for large scale NC machine tools feed-axis lubrication on-line condition monitoring.
