Abstract
This paper describes the structures of the ±100kV multi gap multi channel gas switch. The self breakdown performance of ten switches is introduced. A test bed for synchronous discharge is established. Ten switches are arranged in parallel, and then the synchronous discharge is carried out. The cases with different switching coefficients are analyzed. Two types of trigger isolating water resistors are used in the test. The experimental result indicates that 110kA output current with 100ns rise time can be achieved when the switches are filled with 0.16MPa nitrogen, and charged to ±65kV.
