Abstract

Spherical calcium carbonate was prepared with phosphorus slag residue waste after the preparation of silica as raw materials. The samples prepared were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The results show that the spherical calcium carbonate can be obtained with ethanol as the crystal control agents. The growths of the crystalline with different phases are the same at the ethanol of 1% (mass fraction, the same below), the sodium carbonate concentration of 3.0 mol/L and the reaction temperature of 15°C, for the synthesis of calcium carbonate with a spherical morphology. The grain size of calcium carbonate is smaller at the mass of yellow phosphorus slag of 0.3 g, the sodium carbonate concentration of over 0.3 mol/L, the ethanol concentration of over 7% and the temperature of below 15°C or over 35°C.
