Abstract
A preliminary study on improving in-core fuel management strategy in Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant(GNPS) and Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant(QNP) was presented. The feasibility of changing the reloading pattern from conventional 3 batches loading pattern(LP) to 4 LP and extending the cycle length to 14-18 months was evaluated. The possible benefit of average discharged burnup was calculated as well. The study shows that if the advanced fuel management strategy is employed, a remarkable efficiency in economics will be obtained. And it is an extremely urgent task to research the advanced fuel management strategy for nuclear power plant in China.
