Abstract
Considering the feasibility of hydrogen-enriching pre-reduction in two-step smelting reduction process, the effects of gas parameters and shaft heights on hydrogen-enriching reforming of gas in a imaginary carbon-based packed bed were simulated. The results showed that hydrogen-enriching reforming of gas in the carbon-based packed bed was feasible under the fixed gas temperature and flux, the carbon consumption increased first and decreased afterwards with increasing of carbon-based packed bed height, and inflexion point lay in 2 meter height of shaft, while the water vapor consumption decreased with increasing of carbon-based packed bed height. Reformed carbon monoxide molar fraction increased with increasing of carbon-based packed bed height, while reformed hydrogen molar fraction increased first and decreased afterwards with increasing of carbon-based packed bed height, and inflexion point lay in 3 m height of shaft.
