Abstract
High dielectric constant polymer-based dielectric materials are very important in electrical engineering and micro-electronics fields. In this study, high dielectric constant polymer-based nanocomposites consisting of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and ferroelectric BaTiO3(BT) powder were fabricated by using special processes. Effect of preparation process, BT concentration and the volume ratio (micron/nanometer) of BT on the dielectric property of the composites were studied. The homogenous BT/PVDF nanocomposites are prepared via a strong absorption action happened between the nanosized BT and PVDF particles in free-water ethanol solvent and subsequently a hot-press process. A synergistic effect for increasing the dielectric constant is discovered when the BT powders with micron and nanometer are filled into the PVDF. The result shows that the high dielectric constant polymer-based composites may be produced by means of the effect.
