Abstract

With the development of power electronic technology, more and more power electronic facilities have been used in the power system. As for firing and on-line monitoring system for high-voltage thyristor valves, it plays a very important role in power electronic equipment. The requirements for it are becoming higher and higher. The electromagnetic system has not satisfied these needs. The system of photoelectric firing and on-line monitoring for high-voltage thyristor valves has become prevalent. This paper introduces this kind of system developed by CEPRI. The structure and the function of the system are described in detail in this paper. Now this system has been commissioned in TANGGANG SVC project. During the commissioning some measures have been taken to meet the field needs. For example, the logic circuit of the thyristor electronics board has been modified. Now this system operates perfectly.
