Abstract
This work evaluates the performance of supercharged rotary pressure exchanger. The propagation behavior of liquid wave in rotor ducts was obtained by solving a one-dimensional unsteady flow model. With the optimum wave analysis of pressure recovery process, the exchanger performances of different wave structures were investigated under various working conditions. Results show that there exits a maximum pressure recovery ratio in different pressure recovery processes. The pressure ratio and boosted flow rate decrease with the reduction of pressure difference on low pressure side, and the pressure recovery ratio and boosted flow rate are improved for pressure exchanger with multiple wave reflections.
