Abstract

(Chemical Equation Presented) A new and efficient synthesis of 2-substituted indenes has been achieved via palladium-catalyzed carboannulation of propargylic carbonates with nucleophiles in good to excellent yields. A variety of nucleophiles were tolerated in this reaction.
