Abstract
The air & flue gas ducts are poorly designed for most thermal power plants. As a result, the drag of air & flue gas ducts is larger than expected value which leads to the high energy dissipation for thermal power plant. The drag of air & flue gas ducts is mainly produced in irregular parts such as diffusion pipe, elbow pipe and cutting angle elbow. The numerical simulation of flow field in the ducts was carried out with standard k-ε model using Fluent as the solver in this paper. At last, some flow and drag characteristic of irregular parts with different structures are clear. Also some reasonable and optimizing structure parameters and forms are presented which provide some help for the optimization designing of air & flue gas ducts.
