Optimization of surface tension in multiphase flow based on unstructured grid

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The Projection Method based on unstructured grid is developed with Piecewise Linear Interface Capturing method, to precisely solve the interface construction in multiphase flow. Based on CSF model, the Dirac Function is formatted for unstructured grid and a double interpolation is implemented to improve the accuracy of surface tension. Static drop is simulated to verify the present method. The droplet deformation in shear cavity flow is presented, and shows that the critical capillary number of droplet breakup have a linear relationship with two phase viscosity ratio, and also with the droplet radius.
