Abstract

An optimization method for magnetic field of on-line Ferrography was presented firstly. A mixed magnet pattern consists of permanent and electromagnet was proposed, and the objective function based on the magnetic force exerted on the wear particle was designed to judge the performance of the mixed magnet, then the optimum dimension of mixed magnet were obtained by integrating the finite element method and improved genetic algorithm. The mixed magnets were devised according to the optimal results, and experimental measurement was implemented. The result shows that the proposed objective function used for evaluate the magnetic field is rational than magnetic induction. The mixed magnet satisfies the requirements of on-line Ferrography, its dimension is only one-third of the old electromagnet.
