Optimization approach for multi-process dimension and its tolerance

Abstract

To improve product quality and reduce manufacturing cost, an optimization approach for multi-process dimension and its tolerance was put forward. In this approach, the manufacturing cost, quality loss and processing capability index were considered, the manufacturing cost-tolerance function and the quality loss function were modified by the process capability index, and then an overall cost-tolerance function model was established in process. An analytical target cascading method was used to optimize the process dimension and dimension tolerance so as to reduce cost of the total form feature. Finally, a simulation experiment was used to verify the proposed method.
