Abstract
A new algorithm for scheduling head-dependent cascaded reservoirs within the Lagrangian relaxation framework is presented. The algorithm can systematically consider the discontinuous operating regions, discrete operating constraints such as minimum up/down times, the head-dependent power output and hydraulic coupling among reservoirs. Numerical test based on a practical power system shows that the algorithm is computational efficient and practicable.
