Abstract
A new optimal power flow (OPF) model with reliability constraint is proposed to obtain an economic and secure operation schedule of the power system, where the reliability index constraint is constructed based on z transform theory to take the uncertainties of electric power system into account, and the objective aims at minimizing the total cost of the system to satisfy the expected loss of load probability (LOLP). The proposed OPF problem with typical nonlinear-ity is solved by interior point method. Probabilistic production simulation is adopted to evaluate the reliability indices of generation schedules in RTS-24 system simulation. Compared with the operation schedule obtained from the traditional OPF, the expect energy not serve (EENS) decreases 31.48% and the production cost increases 14.39% in the proposed OPF results, verifying the practicability and reliability of the presented OPF formulation.
