Abstract

Mutually coupled linear switched reluctance generators (LSRGs) have become attracting candidates for wave energy conversion due to the robust structure, low cost and comparable power density to the PM generators. These comparative features, however, depend not only on the optimized magnetic structure but also on the proper control of the associated power converter. In this paper, the performance of the mutually coupled LRSGs with optimal turn-on and turn-off positions is studied. And the finite element method and experiments are used to validate the accuracy of the mathematic analysis.
