Abstract

To measure the interruption characteristic of low voltage molded case circuit breakers (MCCB) more precisely, a set of novel 2-D optical fiber system is developed. Precision is greatly increased by adding self-focus lens on the top of each fiber. Furthermore, adopting the full hardware control logic and the corresponding buffer technique, the sampling, conversion and storage of data from multiple channels can be processed automatically and the requirement of real-time, synchronous and high-speed processing can be satisfied, which can't be implemented by microprocessor for the restriction of the frequency of bus operation and data stream. Introducing the behavioral design pattern of publish-subscribe to the software, graphic configuration can be realized, which enhances the flexibility and applicability of the whole system. It was demonstrated by the experiment results that the system gives a better research technique especially for new generation MCCB with gas driven arc.
