Abstract
A key problem in the field of emergency management is to determine a strategy for activating a contingency plan. Water pollution crisis represents one kind of emergency management problem. Based on online methods and taking sudden water pollution in a river as the background, this work presents emergency online strategies for different cases and provides a competitive analysis. Evidence from Suzhou creek is collected to test the competitive ratio of the online strategy. An illustration about sudden water pollution in Suzhou creek is also provided. The conclusions provide guidance for decision makers to solve similar critical emergencies.
