Abstract
In this paper, a wavelet-based method is first presented for the calculation of the analytic counterpart of an energy-limited real signal, and then used to estimate the instantaneous parameter(IP) of the signal. Compared to conventional method based on Hilbert transform(HT), the new method is proved to yield higher precision and better antinoise performance. Both model and field data processing show the validity of the method in IP estimate of seismic data from complex structured area.
