Abstract

Even though several papers have researched the PLC-implementation of DES supervisory control, the general idea of implementation is not given in detail and the selection of controllable events at a single state remains unsolved. This paper demonstrates a general approach to realize the PLCimplementation of the monolithic, decentralized and hierarchical DES supervisory control. To solve the problem that only one controllable event can occur at a certain instant, this paper proposes some approaches to deal with the selection of controllable events at one single state, where several controllable events are eligible to occur. An experiment on a logistic sorting system is reported to show the validity of our approach.
