Abstract
This chapter introduces the offshore floating reactor, which has the advantages of economy and safety. However, it meets several challenges. Motion conditions will have a certain impact on the thermal-hydraulic characteristics; short-term high-intensity impacts on the reactor vessel wall and components threaten the first safety boundary integrity; rescue in time could be a problem. Thermo-hydraulic analysis of offshore floating reactors is introduced. Thermal-hydraulic characteristics such as critical heat flux, flow instability, and natural circulation are discussed.
