Abstract
A 3D numerical study on the flow and thermal characteristics of deflector with passive thermal insulation under periodic jet impingement was conducted. The effects of jet distance between jet and deflector, horizontal angle and axial angle of deflector were analyzed. The results presented that 90% of gas mass was diverted towards the upside, front and back sides after gas impinging upon the deflector. The case of larger horizontal angle had the worse diversion capacity of gas towards upside, and the change of axial angle may control the gas mass rate diverted towards front side and back side. The temperature variation of heat-resistant layer in deflector behaved the feature of stable periodic fluctuations after four impingement periods. The temperature of impinged surface increased with the decrease of jet distance or the increase of horizontal angle.
