Abstract

Numerical simulation has been performed on the condensation heat transfer of the saturated steam around high speed sub-cooled water jet. The standard turbulent model is used. The condensation boundary condition is used in the two-phase boundary. The normal mass flux through the two-phase boundary caused by the condensation of steam was considered. The convective heat transfer coefficient is about. 1.0 Mega-Watt per square meter per degree, which agrees well with experimented data, and is mainly determined by the turbulent motion in the jet.
