Abstract
In the present study, a two-dimensional numerical simulation of single bubble growth and departure during nucleate flow boiling was performed on the horizontal, 45° inclined and vertical surfaces, respectively, using the moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method. The numerical results are provided for bubble shape and growth rate, which show a good agreement with the data from the experiment. Bubble sliding motion prior to liftoff as observed in experiments was well predicted from numerical simulation.
