Abstract

Three-dimensional flow field of an axial compressor inlet stage is calculated. By introducing the additional force in rotating reference frames acted on particles using UDF, particle trajectories and particle deposition distribution on the rotor blade surface of the inlet stage are simulated. Based on the deposition calculation, the performance deterioration of compressor rotor cascades is simulated. The research of particle deposition provides the basis of three-dimensional blade optimization design preventing deposition through aero-dynamical characteristics.
