Abstract
A compressible factor was applied to improve the stability of calculation procedure in the moving particle semi-implicit method for the numerical simulation of fluid free surface flow. Collapse of a liquid column was successively simulated using the improved algorithm and the results were compared with the relative experiments and other numerical simulations. It is shown that the introduction of a compressible factor largely increases the computation stability, and the proposed method is simple and effective to simulate fluid free surface flow even when the collision happens and big deformation exists.
