Abstract
Liquid sloshing in moving tank was simulated numerically with an Eulerian-Eulerian multiphase model for the tank truck of braking and turning. Improving the imposed method of the transverse centrifugal force to the tank truck, the effects of different filling ratio, braking speed, and turning radius on the liquid sloshing behavior were described more accurately, and a corresponding calculating method for the critical turning radius of the moving truck was proposed. The numerical results show that during braking of the tank truck, the maximum force on the tank wall along the advancing direction increases nonlinearly with increasing filling ratio and increases linearly with increasing braking deceleration, while during turning of the truck tank, the transverse torque increases linearly with filling ratio increasing. A critical turning radius exists.
