Abstract
Based on the laser shock processing experiment of aluminum alloy LY12CZ, the residual stress field induced was simulated by numerical analysis software ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The key problems including the loading history, the constitutive relation, the net division and the solving time etc were treated in the simulation and a mathematical model was established. The distributing characteristics of the residual stress on the surface and at the depth of the shocked area were analyzed. The results indicate that there was residual compressive stress 0.5mm under the surface. The simulation results were well agreed with the experimental results with the deviation of the magnitude of residual stresses being 10.2%. The simulation results obtained could provide the theoretical basis for controlling the laser shock processing and further experimental research.
