Abstract
Enhanced heat transfer technology is widely used in many fields and has received a lot of attentions. Periodically mounted Longitudinal Vortex Generators (LVGs) in rectangular narrow channel may generate some longitudinal vortices along the flow direction, which can effectively improve the heat transfer performance. A narrow rectangular channel with periodically mounted LVGs on one sidewall is numerically studied with the commercial software CFX10.0. The effects of LVGs' spacing on turbulent flow and heat transfer are studied in detail. According to the analysis on j/f, outlet temperature and pressure drop of the whole channel, the optimal LVGs' spacing of X=30-45 is obtained.
