Abstract

The problem of coupled convection and conduction was calculated with a two-dimensional unsteady model of the gap regenerator that was subjected to an oscillating flow. Two different boundary conditions, isothermal and adiabatic, are considered. The maximum inlet velocity changed from 6 m/s to 10 m/s and the length of the gap regenerator was between 80mm and 140 mm. The change of local variables and instant variables were analyzed. Computations were conducted for both a real model and the ideal gas model and the results of two different models were compared.
