Abstract

An axial symmetric model is constructed to study the electrical contact characteristic of YBCO bulks in this paper. The thermal field, the electrical field and the magnetic field are coupled with each other to simulate the contact phenomenon. Two groups of cases are calculated with the model. The first group cases are designed to investigate the forming reason of the contact resistance. Based on the analysis of the first group cases, we design the second group cases to simulate the contact characteristic. A new method is introduced with a heat flux injected into the contact surface. Some useful conclusions are drawn.
