Abstract

By adopting a kind of full numerical algorithm of fast solving an EHL problem, this paper solved an unsteady partial Reynolds equation which contains a squeeze term with the Patir and Cheng's average flow model and the Wu Cheng Wei and Zheng Lin Qing's contact factor model. The differences between the numerical solutions of these two models are compared, and the dynamic change character of a micropeak contact is also studied. The result provides a theoretic basis for engineering application of the partial elasto-hydrodynamic problem with the contact factor model which is more intuitive and simpler.
