Abstract
The first critical droplet structures for nucleation from an austenitelike phase to a twinned martensitelike phase near the pseudospinodal in a system with elastic forces were calculated. The droplets do not have the stable phase structure. Droplets that do not have the stable phase structure were predicted in the nucleation of the crystal from the melt.
