Nonorthogonal basis functions and the adaptive representations for images

Abstract

One given signal can be approximated in arbitrary accuracy by a finite sub-family of a frame. And an adaptive algorithm of representation for images is suggested based on nonorthogonal basis functions. The algorithm may efficiently represent the local features and the energy distribution.
