Abstract
A new method for optimizing dynamic system with state constraints is presented. The structure information of the system state space is fully used to obtain the recursive mapping relation of cost-to-go functions between two neighboring time intervals. Then the optimal strategy can be obtained in the forward stage. By using this method, the optimal scheduling problem of generation units with ramping constraints can be solved efficiently. Numerical testing results confirm the efficiency and effectiveness of this method.
