Abstract
A new design method for twin-screw compressor is introduced. In the method, some important design parameters are selected with the help of a computerized simulation for this kind of compressor. The main contents and results of the simulation are given. The effects of the parameters on the compressor performance are analysed in detail. The new method is applied to the design of a twin-screw compressor, and the satisfactory performance of the compressor indicates that it is very useful in practice. Compared to the traditional empirical design method, the new design method not only decreases the design time, but also increases the design accuracy. Moreover, the new method can make it possible to design a compressor with optimal performance.
