Abstract
The surface roughness, crack, porosity, microstructure and abrasive wear resistance of the induction-remelted and laser-strengthened composite cladding coats were investigated. The results show that the composite cladding technology has the merits of both intermediate frequency induction remelting and laser cladding. With this technology, a large area of coats with lower surface roughness in homogenous microstructure can be obtained without any cracks and the bonding between coats and matrix is also perfect. Moreover, it can decrease the porosity of coats and increase the bonding strength between the coats and the matrix, and hence it enhances the abrasive wear resistance of the coats.
