Abstract
According to the structure feature of the weakly meshed distribution network, a method for fault calculation is proposed. The weakly meshed network is divided into two networks: one is the pure radial network and the other is the pure meshed network. The final solution is obtained by using the superposition principle. The proposed algorithm has many advantages: (1) it is easy to deal with the unbalance in three phase by adopting phase component; (2) the network nodal complex admittance matrices are avoided in fault calculation; (3) the method is adaptable to network topology changes; (4) it is very simple o deal with the influence of fault current limiters; (5) The approach is precise and effective. The numerical example shows that this method is effective for fault calculation in asymmetrical three-phase and meshed distribution network.
